the city that never sleeps. there's always something going on; muggers are taking bags, lights are being shifted, cabs are being hailed to the curb. turnstiles are constantly in motion. music is always playing. yes, music. not only is it playing, but it's being recorded. right in the heart of all that is media in the united states, music is making history.
in 1998, nemesis records was started as a small indie label and quickly grew to a mainstream business in 2004 when they signed their first band that would go on to sell enough just over a million records. now one of the most well known labels in the nation, nemesis is known for their bands' longevity of activity.
formed in 2000, delirium records is one of the newer labels around. the original office was stationed in sacramento, california, but moved to new york in 2004 because of a slight economic downturn within california. now the label is known for their slight diversity in bands and artists, but they still work in the former glory of the name delirium records.
now, new york city is the home to both of these labels. both labels are still in a rivalry against the other. will it ever end? who knows?
