Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky
- - - - - - - - - - - - are like shooting stars
sam hadn't realized he had been throwing out a bunch of ideas all at once to sean. he was a bit overexcited to have someone spend the night who wasn't his brother or sister who just wanted to look over for him in the night. thank god they stopped doing that. but for awhile they didn't even trust him to be at his house alone in the middle of the night. now that they trusted him more, he got more freedom, and getting to spend all this time with someone new and exciting, made sam want to do everything he possibly could with him. sam also hadn't realized how tired sean seemed, until he could sense the boy started to doze off in his arms. sam smiled at sean's reply. sleep did sound rather good, and it seemed like sean needed some. sam could feel himself start to yawn. he was quite tired too, but he hadn't realized it because for so many months, he practically would be up for hours, sometimes even days, depending on how strong the drugs were that he was on at the time. he had a small case of insomnia, which was starting to wear off as the days soared by since his last use.
sam knew the question was bound to arise. the sleeping arrangements. that question stumped him. usually the guests slept on the couch while sam took his bed, but he didn't really want poor sean to sleep all alone out on the couch in unfamiliar territory. "i'll tell you what, you can either sleep out here on the cold, lumpy couch, or you can sleep in my warm, comfy bed with me." sam offered. it was a special offer, so sean should appreciate it. usually sam didn't let anyone sit on his bed, let alone sleep on it. but sean had surely earned it. sam really hoped that sean chose to sleep with him in his bed, because they could continue to cuddle. sean was like his little teddy bear that sam had when he was little. he took the teddy bear everywhere he went and cuddled with it. the teddy bear was like his best friend, his mother used to tease him. it felt good to have an actual living thing to cuddle with though. he had almost forgotten how nice it felt to have someone beside him. sean's warm body kept sam very warm indeed. he had to resist the temptation just to fall asleep like this.
"well," he said rather lethargically. "i'll tell you what. you can either sleep out on this lumpy old couch, or you can sleep with me in my bed." sam offered. he didn't usually offer people to sleep with him in his bed, but he didn't want to leave sean all by himself in a strange house. plus, sam wanted to keep the warmness and kindheartedness beside him while he slept. it would be like a dream catcher for sam tonight. sam wasn't sure the last time he had slept with someone beside him, he really wished that sean would choose to lay with him, considering how bad he made sleeping out on the couch sound. but it was still sean's idea. if sam knew him better, he would have just spontaneously carried him to the bed, but they weren't on those terms yet, as much as sam wanted them to be. so he stayed there, allowing the boy to get more comfortable on his shoulder, being careful not to move.
I could really use a
